Sheila Barrios live @ Plazuela de Iloilo

Ilonggo pop songstress and now one of the Ilongga Divas, Sheila Barrios recently shines at “Sarap Magbago Ilonggo,” an all-Ilonggo concert and fashion last August 27, 2011, 7PM onwards at Plazuela de Iloilo. Sheila together with her fellow i-Divas performed an exclusive Pepsi song that they co-wrote while simultaneous with a fashion show of RED LOGO models. Then they performed their upcoming Ilongga Divas first single entitled “Say.” She also sang the official jingle of Captain Dad’s Resto, a new Ilonggo fastfood chain together with Zpinx Angel of M.I.C. Muzik. Sheila also performed her original Ilonggo hit songs “Ginpalangga,” “Sa Handum Na Guid Lang” and “Padayon.” Ilonggo rap groups such as Click THIS, Paramour Sifee, Urban Mobztaz, SYK Unit, I’ll Sidaz with solo artists R-nic and Ezzy performed their original songs. Papa Prince of Campus Radio 93.5 hosted the event.

Fashion and music will collide to create a stellar show at “Sarap Magbago Ilonggo” on August 27, 2011, 7pm onwards at Plazuela de Iloilo’s Plaza Mayor. Conceptualized by 8FINITY Events and Promotion, the non-stop fashion show, concert and nightlife party will gather the brightest Ilonggo pop artists in one special night live at the city’s newest party and entertainment hub, Plazuela de Iloilo. The fierce fashion show featuring RED Logo apparels and models will invade the runway together with the live music of Ilongga Divas. Ilongga Divas is a pop trio of local recording singers who released their Ilonggo singles in Iloilo and Bacolod FM stations such as Sheila Barrios (Ginpalangga), Irish D. (Ikaw) and Cherry Callao (Kasubo). They are also set to perform their first group single entitled “SAY.” Rap group Clique THIS with their popular song “Ilongga Gwapa” will entertain the crowd. Guest rap artists such as Paramour Sifee, Mix Ilonggo Crew, Urban Mobtaz, Ezzy and a lot more will perform original rap songs. Twilight Band will fire up the evening for a non-stop nightlife party. Event tickets also come with a free PEPSI or San Miguel Beer products plus special Ilonggo CD album can be claimed at the venue.

Sheila & Ilongga Divas interview with The News Today

Sheila Barrios, Irish D. and Cherry Callao, the Ilongga Divas were recently invited for an interview with The News Today Lifestyle Editor, Kathy Villalon at Captain Dad’s Resto last August 5, 2011 at 3PM. The three Ilonggo pop singers willingly shared their life, passion for music and their dreams in a one-on-one interview with the newspaper editor. Cherry was happy to tell the editor that she’s more than just a pop singer but a talented dancer and performer since she was a kid. Irish was able to share her dream of becoming a popular singer someday that’s why she took up BS Music Education at West Visayas State University. Sheila sincerely told her story of struggle of becoming a successful individual, her unexpected career in singing and plan to develop her leadership skills as an active student leader in school. She is presently taking up BS Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Iloilo as Uygongco Foundation special scholar. The three artists also performed parts of their popular Ilonggo singles as a treat to the affable editor. Their songs are played in various FM stations in Iloilo City and Bacolod City since last year.

In the coming weeks, their individual feature stories will be published in The News Today’s Lifestyle Section in separate dates. But beyond anything else, these three young Ilonggo music sensations are always keeping their feet on the ground, optimistic and thankful to God for their musical gifts.
