talent search
Sheila and 3nity performs new track @ Baryo Got Talent
Talent how do we define it? Some people say it is an innate gift. Others just declare it as a skill that an individual can develop with constant practice. Both statements are true. Yes, people have different talents and gifts that make life meaningful. Throughout history, talents and innate skills of people contribute to the betterment of our society and life in general.
In these modern times, talents and God-given gifts of people are often seen on TV with the rise of talent shows like Britain’s Got Talents and the popularity crossed all over the world. Pilipinas Got Talent’s first grand winner, Jovit Baldivino became an instant superstar with his powerful singing voice this year. And the sensation never ends as the talent show inspired Angelbert Diocena, a close friend of Reyn Callao and the rest of the Ilonggo 3nity to organize the same show in time for their community’s weeklong fiesta celebration on August 13. Then, Baryo Got Talent was conceptualized and born in Bo. Obrero, one of the biggest barangays located in the district of La Paz in Iloilo City, Philippines.
In search for the most unique, the best and the brightest talents in Bo. Obrero, the organizers scheduled two elimination auditions last July 17 and 24. So far, the elimination judges had chosen 12 grand finalists to complete on the grand finals night on August 11, 8PM at Bo. Obrero Public Plaza. Each grand finalist was carefully and meticulously chosen by the judges to carry the “x-factor” appeal and carry the pride of the community. There will be a widescreen presentation of their stories and talents on the finals night to make it more relevant.
So how about Sheila and her group, the Ilonggo 3nity? Do they have a part in the show? Well, first and foremost, rslphoenix music, the show’s co-organizer chooses not to let them join the competition since they are elevated already as an Ilonggo recording artists. Second, they will become an inspiration for the contestants as Ilonggo artists who are passionate with their talents. Finally, they will be treated as special guest performers in the show by debuting their first group single (this is something that people should wait). The group was newly-founded by rslphoenix music team not only as trio of singers but as music artists with distinct personalities and specialties in music. That reminds us of the Spice-Girls-meets-Backstreet-Boys+LadyGaga Ilonggo style, hehe.
Anyway, real talent counts most in proving who will be the best on stage. But then, talent needs the heart, too, to know its real strength and power because it is rooted from passion. And passion is about dreaming what you hoped for in life, trust us.
Come and see the show on August 11, 8PM at Bo. Obrero Public Plaza. Though it’s just a small community event, it means a lot for Sheila and the Ilonggo 3nity because it will be the start of their artistic statement as a pop group. It’s free so why not try to see them and the show live!

2nd passion
Sheila’s first love, moving-on and second shot
Sheila's “Ginpalangga” single and music video is a statement from a young Ilonggo songstress who believed in her innate talent for music. Her voice uplifted her status to earn a place in the local Ilonggo music scene as the first local female singer in Iloilo to have her very own music video with an experimental approach (ala independent digital film) created by a team of optimistic and creative minds from rslphoenix music team. It was released last June 2010 in her youtube channel and facebook account that was given attention by a lot of people. The song is conveyed with an RnB style, distinct singing voice and represented her heart as an artist. Three months ago, this girl is just an ordinary soul trying to figure out her place under the sun and hoping what life has to offer. Now, she's an artist and a performer with style. It's not about money, fame or what the future has to offer for her. But it is absolutely about her music, her voice and her desire to touch hearts with her songs. Believing within her gift is the first step and pursuing her dream no matter what happens is a big journey for her.
Now, this young songstress is ready for another shot of solo single. Though it’s still in-the-making stage, the song will surely contain some of her personal sentiments for passion, heartbreak and moving-on. We hope those who first listened and captivated by her first single will still be there to listen to this new song written in Ilonggo, something she’s both proud culturally and personally.
The untitled track contains these touching lines: “ulihi na, kay ako imo na ginkalimtan, ang paghigugma ko, para lang tani sa imo...”
For now, take a glimpse once again of her first love--- “Ginpalangga” Full Music Video

pop coming
Sheila and Ilonggo 3nity’s August 2010 landing
Who are the Ilonggo 3nity? Are they really as “pop” as a bubblegum or just plain cheesy? Nope, they’re not just pop artists who will unleash their music but multi-talented music artists with a statement--- to entertain in the name of entertainment. Ilonggo pop music has new faces and hopefully a new tune to listen to. As a trio of unique voices that includes RnB singer Reyn Callao, ballad songstress Sheila Barrios and dance diva Cherry Callao, Ilonggo 3nity is a pop odyssey of talents that will unmasked what Ilonggo music really means. Who said Ilonggo music can never be classy, global and trendy? Anything, yes, everything is possible with sheer talent, pure music and some little blazing dreams conveyed by three voices with unique vocal ranges and sincere passion to entertain. Trust us, you’ve never seen Ilonggo music anything like this before through these three unique young artists. They can mimic voices of several singers (“copycatting” is a very Pinoy vocal feat, I must say), they can rule the dance floor with their dynamic moves (that reminds us of “Step Up” film franchise), and yes, singing is an innate passion for them. Sometimes, and very honestly, they can sing anything at the Karaoke Bar like tying their shoelaces (we wish Charice was an Ilonggo, too, haha). Reyn Callao has already released two singles “Seryoso” and “Bahala Ka Na” with RnB flavour in local FM station since April. Accompanied by a mini-film indie music video, Reyn is the new face of local RnB. Sheila Barrios proved that she’s indeed a little songstress with a soulful voice when she released her single “Ginpalangga” last May and now with an indie music video, this girl is indentified to have a solid, distinct singing voice (actually, she was discovered accidentally, hehe). And here comes Cherry Callao, Reyn’s little sis has talents, too, both in the dance floor and the way to captivate your heart with her voice. “Ikaw Guid Lang” is her first solo single enough to melt your heart.
This is just a fraction of the whole Ilonggo 3nity story to come. And before the real and full story will be told, they will arrived like a shooting star falling from night sky and lands in the Ilonggo land with a blazing statement--- reinvent Ilonggo pop music.
Catch their first mini-performances and gigs in these following dates and venues. These are just mini-performances with a promise to come back bigger and better this year.

tease shoot
Sheila & Ilonggo 3nity’s tease with Jose de Luna photos
The word is out now. Ilonggo 3nity, the next face of Ilonggo music has just unveiled their fabulous photo shoot with itravel photography editor best known for his artistic photos, Jose de Luna. The man who manipulates his lens artistically has done international stints in photography. Locally, he inspired local photographers with his glamorous fashion shoots for magazines, coffee table books and events. When he was approach to do the first photo shoot of Reyn Callao then with Sheila Barrios, he instantly uplifted Ilonggo music artists to a different level of elegance and style. Jose or “Joe” to some of his photography buddies enjoys glamorous photo shoots once in a while as part of his passion for photography. And when rslphoenix approached him to have another photo shoot with the Ilonggo 3nity composed of Reyn Callao, Sheila Barrios and another rising Ilonggo singer, Cherry Callao, he instantly loved the idea. Joe is excited to bring out the best in each of them and proved that Ilonggo music artists can be sexy, fabulous and stylish with his artistic approach in photography.
rslphoenix and Ilonggo 3nity even teased him that they would invite Joe in their very first mini-concert gigs next month with a special front row seat to show their outmost gratitude for his undying support. Once again, the photo shoot was held in the exclusive high-end enclave of Savannah—The Crest. Not everyone can have a photo shoot in this private community since most of its homeowners are expecting privacy and exclusivity. But Camella is optimistic to show the beautiful facade of the place and supports Ilonggo music, they never failed to invite the Ilonggo 3nity. One of the locations during the photo shoot is the fantastic main model house of The Crest which was said to be the occasional vacation house of Senator Manny Villar and his family every time they visit Iloilo. Even his closest friends and business associates held their close door meetings or dinner in this private house inspired by Southern American lifestyle.
We won’t tease you anymore coz’ it’s time to unveil some of Sheila’s best shots and selected Ilonggo 3nity photos that will be used to highlight the release of their new single soon. The second set of phots will be posted soon. The music party of Ilonggo 3nity will start this August at Iloilo City’s glitzy nightlife capital—The Smallville complex. Mark the date: “Fashionably Loud” featuring the Ilonggo 3nity and Jet Salcedo designs at Pirates Bar and Restaurant on August 21, 10PM.
Be there coz’ it’s free entrance!

sing along live
Karaoke gaga with Sheila and the 3nity
After full of week of vocal practice and brainstorming for their upcoming gigs, Cherry Callao and the rest of the Ilonggo 3nity such as Sheila Barrios and Reyn Callao with the rslphoenix music team took a break. This time, they head on for a karaoke gaga night to the city in the evening of July 20. Their first stop is Marina Bar and Restaurant in the partyphille central of Iloilo, Diversion Road where the nightlife strip Smallville is located nearby. They met with the band called “Nytshift” under Totong Villaruz bands at Marina that will make their first group mini-concert gig on August 13 possible. The show is earlier entitled “Please Don’t Stop The Music 2010” live at Bo.Obrero Public Plaza as the Ilonggo 3nity’s first gig together. Plans and full production of the pop event is still in planning stage along with their rehearsals.
After an hour of watching the band played their mainstream repertoire that entertains the ballroom dancing crowed (it was the birthday party of the restaurant owner), the group headed to a nearby karaoke resto. The swinging nightlife at Smallville did not attract the group since their vocal chords are clamouring for some singing practice (sooo excited for their next month event, I should say). For the next, three to four hours, Reyn, Sheila and Cherry Callao, the next solo Ilongga singer to be introduced by rslphoenix music later this July sang their heart out to their favourite songs at the Karaoke. Reyn conquers the rock ballad pieces like Faithfully, Too Much Love will Kill You, Carrie, etc. Sheila and Cherry sang ballad favourites like I Love You Goodbye, All This Time and a lot more. What can you expect from a group of young vocalists but impressive drama over karaoke gaga.
Well, it was a night to remember as they prepare for their first few gigs to come. We hope that the best is yet to come for Ilonggo 3nity and rslphoenix music. Many thanks to Angelbert and Tad Abadiano for the creative support of the upcoming event.
It’s now or never ... (soon)

party girl
Glam party with a friend
Sheila was invited to attend the glam birthday party of Gelai Contreras last July 10 with her cousin, Reyn Callao. The party took place early in the evening at Gelai’s residence then proceeded at Smallville with her group of friends. The fun party and chit-chat happened at the posh Club 21 where Gelai’s friends enjoyed a cozy ambiance and some party drinks. Later on, the group decided to have a full blast dance party till midnight and beyond. We wish you all the best in life and luck (+lovelife).
Reyn and Sheila enjoyed a night of real party with glam girl Gelai. Happy birthday again, girl!
power of 3
Sheila turns 3nity dream kicking
Sheila is ready for a tough change. This time, her musical gifts will merged with other rising Ilonggo artists as part of Ilonggo 3nity. Stories and buzz about this supposed-to-be “pop” group to launch another musical reintroduction are popping in facebook and this webpage. But everything will take form and create a new image of what’s going to get “in” for local Ilonggo music with the coming of Ilonggo 3nity. Sheila is part of it and sharing the spotlight with her cousin, Ilonggo RnB singer, Reyn Callao will form a trio of musical talents that will not only sing live, release songs, post new pictorials but will surely redefine Ilonggo pop into elaborate “pop art” with the use of multi-media. Make no mistake about it, Kuris Animators, the only Ilonggo group of animators who managed to leave an impact to local multi-media art in Iloilo will surely be part of their reintroduction. This time, they mean “art” for “art’s sake.”
So after more than two months release of her first independent single “Ginpalangga” in local radio that reintroduced her indie-styled music video (we mean soo indie) and upcoming release of her yet untitled second single, Sheila is still up for another unexpected change as part of a singing group. But we know that this change is going to be a blast. Trust us.
In a usual creative brainstorming day for Reyn and Sheila, they both agreed creatively to do their part in finalizing their upcoming track. Putting much passion and pouring their vocal efforts to give the track a distinct form, their reintroduction is something worth waiting for. They keep working to give their best shot, plan for their new image and rehearsing most of the time to perfect their on-stage moves. Of course, when we say trio, it’s going to be three. And the third musical talent to share the spotlight is going to be a “little dance diva” with a voice and moves to prove it. She will be introduced live on TV, on the radio and in her very own webpage.
Cherry Callao is the name to complete the trio of Reyn Callao and Sheila Barrios. Ilonggo 3nity is up for real music.
“Soon” seems to be a lame word to expect their coming.
So, how soon is “now?”
