Day 1: Sheila @ GMA TV13, Campus Radio and iFM
Ilonggo songstress, Sheila Barrios started her Bacolod media tour last November 19 with a lot of surprises. GMA TV 13’s “Isyu Subong” news program team interviewed her about the journey she had with her passion for Ilonggo music exactly 11AM at Campus Radio Bacolod. Bacolod’s very own SYK Unit rappers Poy6100 and Zael were also interviewed. The interview started by playing Sheila’s first hit Ilonggo single “Ginpalangga” by DJ Papa Paulo, then, proceeded in asking him about his opinions on the rise of Ilonggo music in local radio these days. In the video footage of GMA news team, Sheila was interviewed by DJ Papa Paulo about her music and singing talent especially being an Ilongga music artist. Then, her two songs were played on air with a positive note that she’s getting better with her songs. Later, Sheila, Poy6100 and Zael performed their songs and tracks live at Campus Radio recording studio with an interview about their talents and dreams in life. The interview and feature story of Sheila, Poy6100 and Zael will be broadcasted at “Isyu Subong” this coming Friday, November 26, 5PM.
After leaving Campus Radio, they proceeded to iFM where the station’s amiable DJ is waiting to entertain her. Sheila talked about how she wrote her Ilonggo songs, her inspiration and expectations. The DJ also expressed his happiness over Sheila and her Ilonggo 3nity bandmates, Reyn and Cherry about their success of breaking in Rockhampton City, Australia through Radio 4U 93.5 FM that debuted last November 14 through their songs. Sheila’s second single “Sa Handum Na Guid Lang” is massively capturing the interest of iFM listeners through phone requests even with just a one-week release. The day ended with glee and excitement for Sheila, Poy6100 and Zael. Anyway, it's nice to know that Sheila finally recorded her shoutout dialogue that will be used by iFM and Campus Radio Bacolod every time her song will be played on air.
The next day, Sheila is scheduled to accompany Vhouying King of SYK Unit for his radio tour in Bacolod City which was arranged by Bacolod’s dynamic event organizer/producer, Patrick Bucabal who believes in the talents of Ilonggo music artists.
