Sheila’s 1st Bacolod City Performance@ Capitol Lagoon Park
The Ilonggo pop songstress finally performed for the first time in the city of smiles on the evening December 30, 2010. Sheila Barrios was invited by RMN radio in their post Christmas Variety Show and New Year’s Party at Capitol Lagoon Park in Bacolod City to perform her massively hit Ilonggo songs “Sa Handum Na Guid Lang” and “Ginpalangga.” Released only in November 2010, Sheila’s second single “Sa Handum Na Guid Lang” became the most requested song in iFM Bacolod then followed by other FM stations. These days, her song is massively played everywhere in Bacolod City and has gained a lot of followers. Also in November, she was interviewed and featured in Tukid Negros, the Sunday morning program of RMN together with SYK Unit’s Vhouying King for his hit Ilonggo song “Kadaku Sang Moon.”
With such positive response on her songs, Sheila became the choice Ilonggo music artist to be featured in RMN’s variety show. The show started at 7PM with performances from several other Bacolod-based talents like the impressive display of Beatboxers, Critical Breakdown dance numbers and freeverse rappers. SYK Unit’s Vhouying King and Sayken Snipes from Iloilo City came and performed their hit Ilonggo rap songs “Kadaku Sang Moon,” and “High and Low.” Bacolod-based rap group Filomena Crew composed of Poy 6100, Zaril and Izumi Frias perfomed their latest Ilonggo hit “Una Nga Ginpalangga.” RMN also awarded the winners of Christmas Tree Making Contest sponsored by Swift and participated in by all barangays in Bacolod City.
To the delight of the audience, she performed her special collaboration track with rapper Zaril entitled “Salamat Iloy” for the first time. The song is an emotional tribute to all mothers who are giving unconditional love for their children. It was written and composed by Zaril with Sheila singing the chorus. Then, she performed her newest Ilonggo hit song in Bacolod, “Sa Handum Na Guid Lang” and her first single “Ginpalangga.” With all the positive feedback from the Bacolodnons that evening, this is just the start of Sheila’s performances in Bacolod and Negros. In fact, she’s very much grateful for their impressive support and response. Her debut album is also being arranged to be released first in Bacolod City sometime this year.
